Six Weeks Post-surgery...

At this point in my journey:

  1. I am back to the gym, working with my personal trainer doing a limited workout routine.
  2. I have started my physical therapy, working with Therapy Services at LMH Health.
  3. I am walking, walking, walking.  I try to walk from 2-4 miles a day.  While Steven was home for trimester break, we walked beyond what I would have done on my own, challenging my own thoughts on what I could do.
  4. On Saturday, I went to my first yoga class since moving to Lawrence.  It was a yoga for beginners class at Bluestem Yoga and I adapted the routine as needed.

The flip side of where I am at?  The things that I am now certain, is that I am adjusting to what is a new normal.  I am making remarkable progress, however there is still a lot of hurdles to cross before I am back to doing what I was doing.  It will be at least another  3 - 4 months before I can ride my bicycle.  I have yet to make a long drive.  That will change on Saturday as we journey to Winfield for a graduation celebration.

    That which I am grateful:

  1. the many people who provide support along the way.  Often, it's the small things that make the biggest difference.
  2. the skilled medical professionals that provided the necessary surgery that was life changing for me.
  3. the skilled personal trainer and physical therapist that are walking me through the extended healing process.
  4. the spiritual connection that carries me through the new and different parts of this healing journey.
  5. the quiet times that are part of this journey - more so than any other time, the quiet moments have been healing.
Until next time - OH, THE PLACES WE'LL GO AND BEYOND!
